Charity Shop Bargains: Barnado's

Hey!

So today I managed to pop into Barnado's 'Save The Children' charity shop down in Benwell. I'm a frequent visitor so the lady who owns the shop smiled as I breezed in and hastened to tell me that ".. all clothing items are half price."

HALF PRICE?! Oh joy of joys!
I managed to pick up only five items: (the restraint was incredible - I wanted it all, really,) three jumpers and two tops. The week before I managed to pick up some heeled ankle boots from there as well so I've included them below.

1. The first jumper is a gorgeous bright red rollneck, quite a fine-knit but with good chunky ribbed cowl and cuffs. You can see here that it is quite oversized and that's perfect paired with jeans and some comfy boots, especially on frosty winter mornings like today! The label inside said 'DIVIDED' (which is H&M), size ten.

Bargain Price: £3.49  half price: £1.75

2. The second jumper is remarkably similar to the first, considering it is also a roll neck and the only real differences are the knit pattern and the fact that it is black, not red. Still, I regard it as a staple piece for my winter wardrobe and will be wearing it with burgundy jeans and some fleece-lined winter boots! This jumper was from Marks and Spencer.

Bargain Price: £3.99  half price: £1.99

3. The third jumper is much thinner than the first two, so I plan on wearing it with a thin layer underneath and maybe even a cardigan on top, because it is more like a top. I really liked the colour palette as it is all pastels and, thinking ahead, I know they're making a  reappearance in Spring '15. I also love the soft, almost 'boucle' texture as it will add interest to any casual outfit. It is originally 'Atmosphere' (Primark) and although I usually don't buy second hand Primark items as a rule, I made an exception because it was half price, and really, who will notice the brand when I'm wearing it outside?

Bargain Price: £3.99  half price: £1.99

4. Item four is the first top I picked up. It's very plain and rather boring, but I grew out of my old one so I simply had to get another. It's a plain, crew-necked white and navy top with long sleeves. Obviously this is one of the most basic tops of all time and can be paired with items from ripped blue jeans to satin midi skirts, and it will still bring a nautical-inspired vibe to your outfit. I'm not sure what brand this is, as the label is in another language and it's a logo even I couldn't recognise! It's very thin but doesn't feel cheaply made, which I am very glad about.

Bargain Price: £2.99  half price: £1.45

5. The last top I actually saw last week, but wasn't completely convinced I could pull it off. But this week it was a) still there and b) half price so I knew I had to get it! It's vintage from a brand called 'Yessica' and looks to be from the nineties. Whilst the weather is still frigid I'm planning on wearing it under that pastel jumper, or any of my others which it would compliment. And as it gets warmer I want to wear it tucked into high-waisted jeans with a scrunchie in my hair, channelling nineties 'skater-grunge'....

Bargain Price: £3.49  half price: £1.75

6. Last but not least, I want to show you these GORGEOUS ankle boots I picked up last week... They had the tag still on (which was in Spanish) and the price was €70. According to a reliable internet currency converter, that's about £55. They were brand new, in mint condition... the main body is black suede, they have oxblood leather trim and faux croc-skin toe caps. I can't wait to wear them when the weather warms up!

Bargain Price: £10

Well that's all for today!
